Every figure checked against the statement itself
Bank statements, as data you can actually trust
Every transaction as CSV or Excel, and the part other converters skip: the figures are checked against the statement’s own running balance, so you know they add up before you use them.
One statement, converted here, no account. Sign up afterwards and it comes with you.
A wrong number looks exactly like a right one
Any tool can produce a table, and the table always looks fine. You find out it was wrong when a reconciliation fails three weeks later, or you never find out at all.
| Jan 9 | ACH DEBIT NORTHWIND POWER | -64.20 | 1,802.15 |
| Jan 17 | CARD PURCHASE 01/16 METRO TRANSIT | -35.80 | 1,766.35 |
| Jan 19 | DIRECT DEPOSIT PAYROLL | 2,400.00 | 4,102.35 |
The running balance does not chain here
1,766.35 plus 2,400.00 reaches 4,166.35, and the statement prints 4,102.35. The row is flagged.
Proved, not just parsed
Every transaction is walked against the running balance the statement prints, and the debits and credits are summed against the totals it declares.
Scans included
A PDF the bank generated is read exactly, character by character. Photographs and scans fall back to OCR and are held to the same arithmetic.
No per-bank code
The layout is worked out from the page itself, so a bank we have never seen is read the same way as one we have. There is no list to be missing from.
What we read
Drop the file in, we read it and prove it, you take the spreadsheet.
Handled today
- Bank statements, personal and business
- Credit card statements
- Multi currency statements, one account per currency
- Scans and photographs, read with OCR
Not yet: invoices, tax packages, profit and loss, balance sheets. If you need one, say so. It is a roadmap, not a refusal.
The difference
We tell you which row is wrong, and by how much.
A statement whose arithmetic disagrees comes back with the rows in it and the mismatch named, never handed to you looking finished.
Straight into your books
OFX is the file Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, Wave and MYOB ask for when they say "import a statement", and it goes in without you mapping a single column. Connect FreeAgent and a proved statement goes straight into the bank account you pick, no file in between. The others take the file: their own APIs will not carry a statement from anyone who is not a bank.
CSV
RFC 4180 with a UTF-8 BOM, so Excel on Windows reads accents
Excel
xlsx with amounts as numbers and dates as dates, ready to sum and sort
OFX
The file Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent and Wave all import
JSON
Through the REST API, amounts as exact decimal strings

Questions
Do I need an account?
Not to convert your first statement. Drop a PDF at the top of this page and it is read straight away, with every figure checked. Signing up afterwards keeps it: the statement moves into your new account, where you can download it as CSV or Excel. An account is needed for a scan or a photograph, which has to be read character by character.
What happens to my statements?
They are stored in the EU and are yours alone. Nobody else's account can reach them, and deleting one removes the file and every transaction read from it.
What if it gets a figure wrong?
Then it says so, and you still get the rows. Where a document's own arithmetic disagrees with what we read, we say by how much and which rows are involved, and where the likely misreading is ours we say that too. Where a document carries no arithmetic to check against, we say we could not confirm the figures rather than pretending to a proof we never had.
Does it work on scans and photos?
Yes. A PDF the bank generated is read exactly from its text layer; anything without one goes through OCR. Both are checked against the same arithmetic.
Can I use my own bank?
Almost certainly. There is no list of supported banks because there is no per-bank code, the layout is worked out from the page. If yours does not read correctly, tell us and it becomes a test case.
What counts against my monthly allowance?
Statements we actually read. A file we fail on does not count, and re-uploading something already extracted returns it for free rather than charging you twice.
Is it only bank statements?
No. Invoices and receipts are read too, including a receipt photographed on a phone, and each is checked against whatever arithmetic it carries: a statement against its running balance, an invoice against its line items, its subtotal and its VAT. Where a document carries no arithmetic at all, you still get the rows and we say we could not confirm them.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from the billing page. You keep everything until the end of the period you have paid for, then drop to Free, 3 statements a month. Your extracted statements are not deleted.
Try it on a statement you already know the answer to
That is the only test that means anything. Three statements a month, free, no card.
